Participant Testimonials
Margaret Hayward
British expatriate, Bangkok
"I attended the Rediscovery Workshop after my mother's passing made me realise how little my own family knew about our papers and where things were kept. The session was nothing like what I expected — it was warm and unhurried. I left with a folder template and a long list of things I needed to do. Two months later, most of them are done."

"The inventory service was exactly what we needed. My parents have a lot of meaningful items — jewellery, paintings, furniture with family history attached — and we had no record of any of it. Nattaya came to the house and the whole process took one full day. The document she produced is something we go back to regularly. I only wish we had done it sooner."

"I joined the Discovery Membership about eight months ago and it has turned out to be one of the more useful things I have done in recent years. The monthly sessions cover topics I had been avoiding — digital accounts, documents held overseas, conversations with adult children. Having a community going through similar things makes it easier to engage with."

"My husband was sceptical at first — he thought it would feel morbid or like we were being pushed into decisions. In practice it was the opposite. Sarah runs the workshop with a lightness that makes the topic feel manageable rather than heavy. We came away with a clearer picture of what we needed to do and, honestly, a sense of relief."

Thai family, Bangkok
"We used the inventory service for my elderly mother's home. She has lived in the same house for 45 years and there were items whose significance even she had half forgotten. The session brought a lot of stories to the surface — some of which are now recorded for the first time. The inventory document is already printed and kept with her important papers."

British-Thai family, Bangkok
"What I appreciated most was that nobody tried to tell us what to do. The facilitator opened up the questions and we talked through them as a family. The referral list they provided afterwards connected us with a Thai lawyer who handles cross-border matters — something we genuinely needed and had no idea how to find."

DEEPER STORIES
Case Studies
A Family Scattered Across Three Countries
THE SITUATION
A couple in their late sixties with one adult child in Australia, one in the UK, and a third in Bangkok had never had a proper conversation about family papers, property, or wishes. When the husband had a health scare in early 2025, the gap in their preparation became very clear to all of them.
WHAT THEY DID
They attended a Rediscovery Workshop together in Bangkok, then enrolled in the Discovery Membership. Over the following four months of monthly sessions, the family conversations that had previously felt impossible gradually became easier. Several sessions were joined remotely by the children abroad.
THE OUTCOME
By the time of their annual review session in June 2026, the family had a completed information folder, an inventory of meaningful items, and referrals to professional advisers in two jurisdictions. The couple said the membership had changed the quality of their conversations with their children.
"We always meant to sort this out and never did. A year ago it felt like lifting a very heavy piece of furniture. Now it just feels like something we have taken care of."
Bringing Order to a Lifetime of Meaningful Belongings
THE SITUATION
An elderly Thai woman with three adult children wanted to be clear about which items she wished each child to have — and why — but found the conversation too emotionally charged to have directly. Her eldest daughter contacted Trovelle on her behalf.
WHAT THEY DID
Nattaya spent a full day at the family home with the mother, cataloguing approximately 80 meaningful items — furniture, jewellery, ceramics, photographs, and documents. For each item, the mother shared the story and any wishes she wanted recorded. The session created a record entirely on the mother's terms.
THE OUTCOME
The printed inventory was shared with all three children at a family dinner the following week. Several misunderstandings about the family's belongings were resolved in that one conversation. The document is now held alongside the mother's other important papers and updated periodically.
"My mother felt heard. That was the most important thing. The document itself is useful, but what mattered was that someone sat with her and let her tell the story of each thing."
